Arena 20 is one of the earliest steps on the path to the top of the ladder. You have access to all the cards in the game, but you’re still low enough that most players won’t have access to everything yet. In many cases, the best decks at Arena 20 are still the ones you have the highest level already. But if you’re looking for some solid new decks to try out, here are three of the best for arena 20!
Furnace + Ram Rider
Cards:
- Furnace (Evolution)
- Knight (Evolution)
- Ram Rider
- Poison
- Ice Wizard
- Goblin Hut
- Guards
- Barbarian Barrel
It’s hard to talk about good decks right now without bringing up the newly-updated Furnace. Furnace is an absolute powerhouse right now, as it’s strong for clearing swarms, flying troops, and more. It’s one of the best all-round cards, especially if you have its evolution. Then Knight takes the second evolution slot, as it’s one of the most efficient tanks. You can play either of these cards without their evolution, but they’re both good to have. Furnace’s is more important, but both help a lot.
The main win con of this deck is Ram Rider. The Ram is fast and does big chunks of damage, so she is consistently able to take out towers. She’s also well supported by cards like Furnace and Ice Wizard that are able to take out swarms that threaten her. Then we also have Barbarian Hut as a strong building to help with tank defense, and Guards to help with anything that might get distracted by a few tough skeletons. This deck also has two spells: Poison and Barbarian Barrel. Poison is good for mid-HP troops and swarms, while Barbarian Barrel is great for countering swarms or specific cards like Goblin Barrel.
This deck is one that is heavily reliant on spamming win cons. You’ll have enough defensive power between the evolution cards and Barbarian Hut to survive most pushes, and the counter pushes here are great too.
Goblin Giant + Sparky
Cards:
- Zap (Evolution)
- Goblin Giant (Evolution)
- Rage
- Dark Prince
- Sparky
- Electro Wizard
- Heal Spirit
- Elite Barbarians
This deck is one that’s been around for a while in one form or another. Goblin Giant’s evolution has made this deck much more powerful, so I feel it’s a strong inclusion. Goblin Giant is a fantastic tank that defends itself thanks to the Goblins on its back, so it’s worth using. Then Sparky does absolutely massive AOE damage, but takes a long time to charge each shot. This whole deck pretty much exists to distract enemy troops away from Sparky so it can clear everything out. If you can get Sparky attached to a tower, it’s game over.
To help with this strategy, two spells come into play. The first is Zap, which is also one of the two evolution cards. Zap is strong at countering Inferno cards that can kill Goblin Giant quickly, and otherwise does a bit of damage for low cost. Rage is also a strong spell, as Sparky shoots so slowly that Rage makes a huge difference. Dark Prince and Electro Wizard are both included as defensive cards, with Electro Wizard the more important since it can counter Inferno Tower/Dragon. Elite Barbarians are an alternate win con, but they also help with defense as well. Their high DPS makes them perfect for defending against any high-HP troop that can’t kill them quickly.
This deck is explosive but heavily reliant on good timing. Sparky is a hard card to use, and it can be countered in a handful of ways. But if you’re able to use your support troops to stop these counters, Sparky is able to take out towers in an instant.
Goblin Cage + Royal Recruits
Cards:
- Goblin Cage (Evolution)
- Royal Recruits (Evolution)
- Royal Hogs
- Royal Delivery
- Fireball
- Barbarian Barrel
- Mega Minion
- Zappies
This deck has been making waves lately. I’ve seen it a lot in top meta scenarios, and sites like RoyaleAPI highly rate it as well. The main goal here is to spam cards like Royal Hogs and Royal Recruits to create overwhelming pushes that can’t be stopped. The Recruits are also great at defense, so they double as both win cons and top defenders. Goblin Cage is the second evolution here, largely thanks to its ability to fully shut down one troop. If it targets a tank or win con, this pays off hugely. Either way, you still get a good defensive building that gives a high-DPS troop after dying. Not a bad trade off.
Barbarian Barrel is here for the usual reason (countering swarms and Goblins), Royal Delivery is just a solid damage spell that leaves behind a troop, and Fireball is the best standard damage spell in the game. These cards can be found all over the place, so they’re all pretty standard inclusions. Mega Minion is included because I feel like this deck struggles against air threats like Balloon in the right situations. Then we have Zappies, which help with the idea of an overwhelming push. They’re also good at defending against slow-moving targets, so they have a number of uses.
This deck is reactive, so you can’t just spam everything at once. Royal Hogs can be spammed whenever, but the Recruits need to be used more strategically. If you manage your elixir well and set up a well-timed evolved Goblin Cage, this deck is really powerful. It’s not particularly hard to play, but it has plenty of synergies and ways to find a win.
